About mountain gorillas:
Mountain gorillas are the largest living primates, with males reaching up to 6 feet tall and weighing over 400 pounds. These critically endangered creatures inhabit only the volcanic mountain ranges of Rwanda, Uganda, and the Democratic Republic of Congo. Sadly, due to habitat loss, poaching, and disease, their numbers have dwindled significantly.
Responsible gorilla trekking:
Authorities strictly regulate gorilla trekking to minimize human impact on these vulnerable animals. Visitors must obtain permits, and the number of visitors is limited. Making direct eye contact with the gorillas is forbidden.
