Gombe Stream National Park
Gombe Stream National Park lies in the westernmost part of Tanzania, nestled along the shores of Lake Tanganyika. Despite its small size, covering just 14 square miles (35 sq km), it holds the distinction of being both the smallest national park in Tanzania and in most of Africa.
The park boasts a remarkable diversity of landscapes, including grasslands, woodlands, steep valleys, and tropical rainforest, surprising for its compact size. Furthermore, the area where the monkeys and primates reside is characterised by dense jungle, evoking a true Tarzan-like setting.
